Mental Health First Aid provides participants skills and knowledge that could save a life, just like completing a physical First Aid course.

Which Mental Health First Aid course is right for me?

Both our Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) and Standard Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) courses teach essential skills that could save lives, just like physical first aid training. However, each course is designed for different audiences:

  • Standard MHFA: This course focuses on supporting adults of all ages, from young adults to older individuals. It covers a wide range of mental health challenges that adults may face throughout their lives.
  • Youth MHFA: Tailored specifically for adults supporting young people aged 12-18, this course includes additional topics like Eating Disorders and Non-Suicidal Self-Injury, which are not covered in the Standard course. It also focuses on youth-specific challenges, including statistics, scenarios, and strategies for working with teenagers.

Both courses provide critical skills to help recognise and respond to mental health issues, but if you’re specifically supporting young people, YMHFA will be the best fit.
