The Dandelion Project

HELPING 60 GIRLS HEAL, GROW, AND THRIVE IN 2025

Healed Tribe Youth Mental Health Program with kids

What Is the Dandelion Project?

The Dandelion Project is a direct-funding initiative created to support 60 girls through six months of consistent, compassionate, and creative mental health support in 2025.

Each girl will receive access to mentoring, therapeutic support, wellbeing tools, and a safe community—all delivered through youth-led, trauma-informed programs grounded in lived experience.

This is about more than treatment. It’s about trust, connection, and helping girls rediscover their strength.

Why it Matters

So many girls experiencing disordered eating, anxiety, trauma, or emotional distress are slipping through the cracks of traditional systems. The Dandelion Project exists to catch them—with real people, real support, and real healing.

We’ve seen firsthand how consistent care changes everything: girls who were isolated now lead group sessions. Girls who once felt voiceless now mentor others. Girls who once struggled to survive are now thriving.

What Our Youth Are Saying

Tarryn’s Story

Youth Who’ve Bloomed

From Hostage to Healer

Tarryn was just a teenager when she found herself completely consumed by anorexia. A self-described perfectionist from a young age, Tarryn’s deep anxiety around control spiraled into a full-blown eating disorder that dictated every aspect of her life. Anorexia became an internal tormentor—one that gave her strict rules, false power, and toxic validation. Though from the outside she appeared high-achieving, on the inside she was battling a voice that left her physically and emotionally depleted.

Her journey through the clinical system began with a hospital admission that saved her life—but it wasn’t until she attended the very first Heal.ed Tribe retreat, with her mother by her side, that she experienced something the system had never offered: true compassion, a sense of belonging, and the safety of inclusion. Here, she wasn’t just a diagnosis. She was seen, heard, and held with care. Tarryn continued to participate in Heal.ed Tribe programs, where therapeutic support, mentorship, and connection helped her move from illness to empowerment.

With unwavering support, Tarryn not only completed Year 12 but embarked on solo overseas travel. She rediscovered life beyond the confines of anorexia—dancing in Mexico, skiing in Canada, and road-tripping across countries. She regained her strength, her joy, and her freedom. Inspired by her journey, Tarryn trained as a yoga teacher, eventually becoming a mentor for other Heal.ed youth. Today, she runs her own retreats in Bali and continues to inspire others as a living example that healing is not only possible—it’s powerful.

Her story has come full circle. Two young people she once mentored through Heal.ed Tribe are now traveling to Bali to attend her retreat. Tarryn’s journey showcases the essence of Heal.ed Tribe: love, connection, and a healing model that moves beyond traditional systems to transform lives.

Kyra's Story

Youth Who’ve Bloomed

Reclaiming Joy through Connection

When Kyra was diagnosed with anorexia at just 13 years old, her world began to shrink. The confident, energetic young dancer found herself withdrawing from her family, isolating from her friends, and losing her passion for movement and life. Despite being in a care team with doctors, Kyra didn’t feel understood or ready to engage—until Megan reached out to her mother and offered a different kind of support. That offer changed everything.

Megan understood not only the clinical challenges Kyra faced but also the emotional toll anorexia takes on a teenager’s identity and dreams. She related to Kyra’s love of dancing, the painful comments from peers, and the fear of losing what she loved most. With this heartfelt connection, Kyra slowly began to open up—to feel seen, normal, and hopeful again.

Through the compassionate care of Heal.ed Tribe, Kyra began to fight for her recovery. The team provided more than just therapy—they gave her community, validation, and tools to build a life beyond the illness. With support from her family and the Tribe, Kyra realized that her life—and her dancing—were worth fighting for.

Today, Kyra is not only healthy but thriving. She is now a successful dancer, choreographer and model and exploring the world with confidence and joy. Her story shows that recovery is possible when young people are met with empathy, understanding, and ongoing support.

Heal.ed Tribe helped Kyra believe in herself again—and now she wants others to know that healing is within reach.

These Are Just Two Stories.

There Are So Many More.

Tarryn and Kyra’s journeys show what’s possible when young girls are truly seen, heard, and supported. But they’re not alone.

Right now, there are dozens more girls—just like them—standing at a crossroads. Some are taking their first fragile steps toward healing. Others are still waiting for someone to reach out and say, “You matter. You’re not alone. We believe in you.”

That’s where you come in.

The Dandelion Project exists to make sure no girl has to walk this path unsupported. With your help, we can give 60 young people the same chance to grow, bloom, and reclaim their futures.
